This book contains much background
information about Ethiopia and Kagnew
Station to assist you during the period when
you are getting acquainted with the
community and its people. Mos of your
questions should be answered, but in the event
they are not, your sponsor or unit of
assignment should be able to provide them.

Your long journey from the United States to
East Africa has brought you to an unfamiliar
area of the world. You face the challenge of
learning the customs and traditions of
Ethiopia. How well you meet the challenge
will determine the measure of success you will
emhoy during off duty time, and contribute to
your on duty efficiency.
