Communication Intelligence Career Field

54. Monitorship.--The Chief, Army Security Agency, is designated the moritor of the communication intelligence career field.

55. Authorized MOS's and grades--The authorized MOS's and grades listed below areestablished for the communication intelligence career field (fig. 8)

56. Certain MOS's currently used.--The MOS's listed below are provided as a guide to classicication and personnael officers in the accomplishment of necessary conversion in accordance with SR 615-25-25. This lis includes certain MOS's which have been identified as being in this caareef field but are now rescinded and the codes and/or titles reutilized. In addition, this list includes cerain MOS's which in accordance with pertinent regulations may have been used to identify certain duties now included in this career field.

57. Utilization of enlisted women.--a. Enlisted women may be assigned the following MOS's in this career field:

58. Standards of grade authorizaion.--The standards grade authorization listed below are prescribed for the intelligence field. In order to determine the grade of supervisors, the only positions counted will be table of organization and equipment and/or table of distribution positions(enlisted and civilian) authorized to the organization and regularly controlled by the supervisor.

a. Crypanalytic Supervisor (1808).

(1) Grade E-7 is auhorized in this MOS for the position of chief cryptanalytic specialist section of a communication intelligence team comprising 10 or more cryptanalytic specialists.

(2) Grade E-6 is authorized in this MOS for the position of--

(a) Assistant chief cryptanalytic supervisor in a team containing a grade E-7 chief cryptanalytic specialist.

(b) Cryptanalytic supervisor in the cryptanalysis section of comunication intelligence team comprising for or more cryptanalytic specialists.

b. Crptanalytic Specialist (3808)

(1) Grade E-4 is authorized in this MOS on the basis of one grade E-5 senior cryptanalytic specialist for each grade E-4 cryptanalytic specialist.

(2) Greade E-4 is authorized in this MOS for the position of cryptanalytic specialist.

c. Chief Radio Traffic Analyst (1709).

(1) Grade E-7 is authorized in this MOS for the position of chief radio traffic analyst in the traffic analysis secion of a communication intelligence team comprising 15 or more radio traffic analysis personnel.

(2) Grade E-6 is authorized in this MOS for the position of --

(a) Chief radio traffic analyst in a team serving a radio intelligence unit comprising 8 to 14 radio traffic analysis personnel.

(b) Radio traffic coordination specialist in a liason section at corps,army, or higher level.

(c) Assistant chief radio traffic analyst in a communication intelligence team containing a grade E-7 chief radio traffic analyst.

(d) Chief transmission security analyst in a traffic control or security analysis team comprising 12 or more transmission security analysis personnel.

d. Radio Traffic Analyst (3709).

(1) Grade E-5 is authorized in this MOS for the position of--

(a) Senior radio traffic analyst on the basis of one grade E-5 senior radio traffic analyst for each two grades of E-4 and E-3 radio traffic analyst.

(b) Chief transmission security analyst in a traffic contro or security analysis team comprising 4 to 11 transmission secuirty analysis personnel.

(2) Grade E-4 is authorized in this MOS for the position of--

(a) Radio traffic analyst.

(b) Senior transmission security analyst on the basis one grade E-4 senior transmission security analyst for each two transmission security analysts of lower grade.

(3) Grade E-3 is authorized in this MOS for the position of--

(a) Radio traffic clerk on the basis of one grade E-3 radio traffic clerk for each grade E-4 radio traffic analyst.

(b) Transmission security analyst.

(4) Grade E-2 is authorized in this MOS for the position of filler personnel.

e. Voice Interceptor (2538)

(1) Grade E-6 is authorized in this MOS for the position of chief voice intercept and direction finder team or teams comprising 10 or more voice interceptors.

(2) Grade E-5 is authorized in this MOS for the position of voice interceptor.

(3) Grade E-4 is authorized in this MOS on the basis of grade E-4 assistant voice interceptro for each grade E-5 voice interceptor.

f. Radio Communication Interceptor (1799)

(1) Grade E-7 is authorized in this MOS for the position of chief radio communication interceptor in a non-Morse intercept team comprising 20 or more radio comunication interceptors.

(2) Grade E-6 is authorized in this MOS for the position of--

(a) chief radio communication in a non-Morse intercept team comprising 8 to 19 radio communication interceptors.

(b) Assistant chief radio communication interceptor in a non-morse interceptor team containing a grade E-7 chief radio communication interceptor.

(3) Grade E-5 is authorized in this MOS for the position of radio communication interceptor.

g. Morse Code Intercept Supervisor (1717)

(1) Grade E-7 is authorized in this MOOS for the position of--

(a) Morse code intercept supervisor in an intercept team comprising 30 or mor Morse code interceptors.

(b) Radio intelligence control chief and direction finder control unit designed to direct and supervise the activities of a combination of two or moreradio intercept teams and four or more direction finder teams.

(2) Grade E-6 is authorized in this MOS on the basis of one grade E-6 Morse code interceptor for each nine grades E-5 and E-4 morse code interceptors.

h. Morse Code Interceptor (3717).

(1) Grade E-5 is authorized in this MOS on the basis of one grade E-5 senior Morse code interceptor for each four grades E-4 Morse code interceptors.

(2) Grade E-4 is authorized in this MOS for the position of Morse code interceptor.
