Details:
On the morning of February 29, 1968, SFC Edward J. Kaminski , SP5 Richard E. Beckwith,and 2LT Victor DiCavallucci were driving to a Marine base when their jeep was ambushed by the Vietcong, just 100 yards from the gates of the base. The Vietcong fired a rocket at their jeep and opened fire with Russian AK 47 rifles, killing all three men in the jeep.
