MOS Updates-Readers Input

You have missed a big group of us -- 98C20 -- traffic analyst.
In addition we had the language code tacked on to it in place of the 20 -- Russian was 98C2L63
I was at DLI in Monterey June 66 - March 67. At Devens, April 67 to Sep 67. At Herzogenaurach, Sep 67 to Mar 68. At Schneeburg Mar 68 to Sep 69. At Rothwesten, Sep 69 to Mar 70.

I served in the USASA from June 8, 1962 until June 7, 1965. My MOS was 723.10, Comcen Spc. I attended schol at Ft. Gordon, Ga. for 11 weeks and was there during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I was assigned overseas to the 177th ASA, Camp Humprey, Korea, from Dec 1962 to Jan 1964 and worked in Criticom Ops. I believe the 723.1 MOS and what you show as 72B20 (741.1) is either the same or closely related.
Thanks,
Bob Hemby

A correction to your MOS list:
I was a Russian Voice Interceptor in the 1954-57 period. My MOS was 988.2663. The 988 was Voice Interceptor, the 2 stood for the degree of skill (1 for entry level and 2 for advanced), and the 663 denoted the Russian language.

I was in ASA from 1952 to 1962... My MOS was 1717 (Morse Code Intercept Operator) until about late 52 or early 53. The DF program was just getting underway and they were designated as 1717D . Later we became 058.20 The designation after the period indicated Non Coms and Instructors, thus 058.68 was an instuctor.

You need to add 98D fromerly 984. This was the COMSEC or SIGSEC Analyst. Training was at Ft Devens and I believe it was 16 weeks in length. This MOS later was rolled into the 05G as 05G.30 . Two very small but extremely important MOS Assitional Skill Identifiers were the H6 Red/Black Inspector and H6 TEMPEST Test Technician added to MOS 32G and 26K respectively. The training for inspectors was originally 5 individuals in 1965 and 1966 and a total of 4 test teams of two EM and 1 officer were trained during the same time frame. Training was done at Arlington Hall Station and National Scientific Laboratories. Bob Morgan and I were the only ones to my knowledge that were cross trained into both areas during 1966.
